Happy Holidays!

Posted on December 1, 2010
Well it's been a while since I last blogged, but I'm glad to say that's because we are staying very busy this fall and into the holiday season.  I am so grateful to everyone that has supported us and helped us along our way.  We are proud to have established this wonderful website and released our new recording this year.  I am confident that next year will bring more projects and more success as we travel down this musical journey.
Remember that our newest recording makes a perfect and unique holiday gift - great for stockings or Secret Santa gifts around the office.  Feel free to purchase on or contact me directly and I am happy to mail them out to you myself!
I wish everyone a blessed and bountiful holiday season and much joy in the new year!

I tend to be a bit technologically challenged so I've been hesitant to upgrade my PA system.  I took the plunge last week and am so happy to be using the BOSE compact L1 system with Tone Match.  It sounds amazing and the portability factor is so wonderful.  No more carrying tons of equipment and sweating like a pig before a gig!  I can't believe the advancements they have made but I am enjoying everyone of them!  I recommend purchasing direct from a BOSE store if possible.  They were very knowledgeable and helpful as I used it the night I purchased it and wanted to be sure I understood the set up.  Many thanks to the BOSE team and here's to many more gigs!

Setting Up Shop

Posted on October 7, 2010
Hello all - well we have been on the road for the last two weekends with trips down to Abingdon, Marion and Roanoke (my hometown!).  How I miss the mountains and the beauty of Southwest Virginia right as the leaves are beginning to change.  As much as I love spending time in the Saks Fifth Ave shoe dept, I am truly a mountain girl at heart.  I am recovering from our travels and setting up my ESJ Entertainment office here at home.
I have been operating this year out of an office that looked more like a junk heap.  Now we have bookshelves and storage and soon even a beautiful window treatment to replace the black bag that has hung from the window.  Anyone in the Richmond area needing the best in custom window treatments and bedding should contact Bonnie Hodges with Pretty Windows for You (  She is the best in town and has such a great eye.  My other love besides music and fashion is interior design so I always enjoy the [...]

Happy Fall Y'all!

Posted on September 19, 2010
Autumn is my very favorite season and after this dreadful hot weather this summer, I couldn't be more ready for fall.  Jazz celebrates the beauty and meaning of fall in such gorgeous songs like "September Song", "Autumn Leaves", and "Early Autumn".  These songs not only exemplify the beauty of the season, but also the tinge of sadness one feels at the end of summer knowing that winter is soon to arrive.  To me, these songs symbolize the seasons of our own life.  How quickly we say the seasons change and how true that is of our own life.  I will be celebrating another birthday this month (my age will remain a mystery!) and each year passes so quickly.  I hope that you carpe diem today and everyday as early autumn will be here before we know it.
Happy Fall Y'all!

My sweet love Coco

Posted on September 14, 2010
As anyone who knows me will tell you, my beloved baby is my toy poodle Coco.  You can see him modeling in the photo section and he is usually in my lap while I type.  He doesn't like to be far from mama and I love having him nestled in my lap or asleep in my arms.  He is never short on kisses or love and is satisfied with a soft place to sleep and a little chicken or steak (preferably off the grill as he has picky tastes!).  Dogs teach us great lessons in life - unconditional love, being satisfied with what you have and how to roll with the punches.  He has brought such joy to my life and I go to sleep every night with him tucked right beside me.
We recently lost a beloved grandfather who was a highly respected vet in NY.  His love, respect and dedication for animals was apparent throughout his life.  My piano player Charlie and his wife recently lost both their dogs very close together, but are now the proud parents of a new puppy named Harry.  [...]
